Exhibiting at Mall Atriums, Delhi

Shopping-mall atriums and concourses for activations, pop-ups and kiosks. Our crews work to the organiser's build-up window at this venue, pre-assembling in the workshop so site time goes on assembly rather than fabrication.

Two stands of identical size can need completely different engineering depending on the room they go into. Height limits, rigging availability, fixing restrictions, power allocation and build hours all change with the venue, and all of them are settled in writing before fabrication starts.

Of the 19 Delhi venues we cover, this one occupies the retail end of it — the largest and least self-selected audience, inside the strictest rulebook. Exhibitors tend to compare venues on footfall and cost; builders compare them on access, fixing and power, and on that measure the gap between the extremes of the Delhi list is very wide.

Delhi is one of India's primary exhibition cities, and the mix shows it: 8 named exhibition venues alongside the 11 venue categories we cover here. That depth means the calendar is dense, crews and services are available locally, and the build-up window is competed for by every other exhibitor in the hall — so a comfortable lead time matters more here than in a quieter market.

Building in a mall atrium

Atrium activations are retail, not exhibition. The audience is mid-errand, the floor is finished stone or vitrified tile that may not be drilled or dragged across, the footprint is marked out to the centimetre, and the whole build happens in the hours when the mall is shut. Everything is therefore cut, finished and trial-fitted in the workshop and only bolted together on site.

Within Delhi the specific room still matters: two mall atriums in the same city can differ on clear height, access and power. We confirm those in writing for your edition rather than carrying an assumption from the last build.

What changes at mall atriums

Build inputAt mall atriums
Access route & panel sizesMall goods lifts, service corridors and then a long carry to the atrium. Panels are sized for the lift car and moved the rest of the way by hand, which caps weight as well as size.
Fixing methodNo drilling into finished flooring or balustrades. Everything is freestanding, ballasted and bolted, with the footprint held inside the marked activation area.
Power sourceA mall-supplied point with a fixed load. Cables are matted and routed clear of shopfronts, and anything drawing heavily is declared to mall management well before the build.
Floor protectionVitrified and stone flooring protected under every leg and wheel. Nothing is dragged, and the area is handed back cleaned, because the deposit depends on it.
Build & strike hoursOvernight, inside mall-management hours, with a strike that must finish before the mall opens. Noise limits mean cutting happens in the workshop and never on site.
Weather & environmentEnclosed, but atriums are glazed. Direct sun through a skylight washes out screens and fades print, so screen orientation and graphic materials are chosen against the light.

These six are the ones that change the stand rather than the drawing. Confirm them for your edition with the organiser and we will design to the answers; where an answer is unavailable we design to the conservative assumption and revise once it arrives.

How we build for this kind of venue

  • Fire-retardant certification available for every material on the stand
  • Cable matting and routing clear of shopfronts and walkways
  • Quiet assembly — pre-cut, pre-finished and bolted rather than sawn on site
  • Escape routes and shopfront sightlines kept clear by design, not by adjustment
  • The footprint held inside the marked activation area to the centimetre
  • Overnight build and strike inside mall-management hours

What to ask the organiser about mall atriums

Send the organiser this list before you commission anything. Each answer removes a contingency from the quote, and at mall atriums two or three of them change the structure rather than the finish.

Get these in writing before you brief anyone

  • Noise restrictions, and whether any cutting or drilling is permitted at all
  • The exact marked footprint, and whether any overhang beyond it is tolerated
  • The power point available, its load, and whether mall staff make the connection
  • Build and strike hours, and the time by which the atrium must be clear
  • The condition the floor must be returned in, and what the deposit covers
  • Fire clearance requirements and which certificates mall management wants on file

Who exhibits at Delhi venues, and what that changes

Exhibitors at Delhi venues come mainly from IT & electronics, automobile, pharma, handicrafts and education — the sectors that fill Delhi's show floors. Those audiences do not want the same stand, and at mall atriums the difference shows up in the build rather than in the brief: who needs a closed room, who needs a load-rated floor, who needs water and drainage, who needs nothing but a screen and two chairs.

Where a Delhi show draws from several of those sectors at once, the stand has to serve two briefs in one footprint. Zoning does it — automobile on the open frontage where it needs to be seen, pharma in the pocket behind where it needs to be discussed — and the space plan below is where that gets decided.

Delhi's sector mix and what each needs from a stand

SectorWhat the stand has to do
AutomobileAn automobile and components audience wants to touch the part. Plan a load-rated display platform, a cutaway or turntable at hip height, and circulation wide enough for a crowd around one vehicle.
PharmaA pharma audience talks in private. A closed meeting corner, lockable sample storage, a wipe-clean dispensing counter and literature capacity matter more than open display area.
HandicraftsHandicraft stands sell density. Open shelving, sightlines into the stand rather than a counter across the front, and light aimed at the object instead of the ceiling.
EducationEducation fairs run on queues and counselling. Standing-height counters, a seated corner for parents, brochure capacity, and a layout that absorbs a session-break rush without blocking the aisle.
IT & electronicsAn IT and electronics audience expects working kit, which makes clean power, cable management and glare-free screen positions the first design decisions rather than the last.

The sectors listed are the ones that drive exhibiting activity across Delhi. Where your show draws from more than one of them, the space plan below is where the compromise gets resolved.

What we build at Mall Atriums, Delhi

Stall sizes and lead times for Mall Atriums, Delhi

Most stands at a venue like this fall between 9 and 72 sq.m. The table below uses the same formula as our stall planner — storage at 10% of area up to 18 sq.m and 15% above, a meeting corner at 5% unless you are hosting meetings, display taking the remainder — so you can sanity-check a quote against the space you have actually booked.

The figures are the same ones our stall planner uses, so a quote can be checked against them line by line: storage at 10% of the area up to 18 sq.m and 15% above it, a meeting corner at 5% unless you are actually hosting meetings, display taking whatever remains, one staff member per 9 sq.m, and the number of visitors who can stand in the stall at once coming out at display area divided by 2.5.

Custom stalls typically run ₹9,000–₹18,000 per sq.m for the build; modular and octanorm construction costs less, and an upgraded shell scheme less again. AV, furniture, flooring, transport and taxes are quoted on separate lines.

Designing a stand that works at Mall Atriums, Delhi

Atrium footfall never registered for a show, so the stand has to earn attention from people on their way somewhere else. One readable line, one thing visibly happening, and nothing that looks like a form to fill in.

Visitors decide whether to enter from several metres away, so the stand has to answer "what do you do?" before it answers anything else. One legible line at eye height does more than a wall of product shots.

Because Delhi's show calendar leans towards IT & electronics, automobile and pharma, the stands we build at this venue usually need to balance open display against a private corner for commercial conversations.

How a build at mall atriums runs

  1. 01

    Read the venue pack

Before anything is drawn we ask for the organiser's pack for your edition: the stand plan with open sides marked, the build-up and dismantle windows, and the rules on height, rigging, fixing and power. At mall atriums the answer that most often changes a design is the overnight build window and the goods-lift car dimensions.

  2. 02

    Design to the limits

Design happens against the constraints rather than around them, so no-drill ballasted construction inside a marked footprint, bolted rather than cut on site is a starting condition here rather than a late revision. What you approve in 3D is therefore something that can actually be built in this room.

  3. 03

Build and test in the workshop

Carpentry, metalwork, spray finishing, large-format print and electrical assembly all happen in-house, and the whole stall is assembled once before it ships. That is what turns a short on-site window into enough time.

  4. 04

    Install, hand over, strike

A named project manager and the crew that pre-assembled the stall install it to the drawing and hand over a working stand. Site care is part of that rather than an afterthought: protection under every leg and wheel, and the area handed back cleaned. The same crew returns to dismantle and clear the stand inside the organiser's window.

What else is in Delhi

We cover 8 other named exhibition venues in Delhi: Bharat Mandapam (Pragati Maidan), Yashobhoomi – India International Convention & Expo Centre, NSIC Exhibition Complex, Okhla, Talkatora Indoor Stadium, Siri Fort Auditorium and JLN Stadium Complex, plus 2 more on the city page. By name they break down into 3 purpose-built exhibition and trade centres, 2 indoor stadiums and arenas, 1 auditorium, hall or cultural centre, 1 hotel ballroom or hotel convention hall and 1 open ground or maidan, and the gap between the easiest and the hardest of those to build in is larger than any gap in stall size.

Underneath the named venues sit the 11 venue categories we cover in every city, Delhi included: industrial estate expo grounds, government exhibition grounds, resort & lawn venues, 5-star hotel ballrooms, convention & banquet halls, open exhibition grounds, mall atriums, university & college campuses, industry association halls, stadium & sports complexes and corporate campus event spaces. A large share of exhibiting activity in India happens in those rooms rather than in exhibition halls, which is why they get their own pages rather than a footnote.

Named Delhi venues, read by what each one calls itself

VenueType read from the nameWhat that implies for a stand
Bharat Mandapam (Pragati Maidan)Purpose-built exhibition or trade centreIn a purpose-built hall you are one of many stands with identical freedoms, so differentiation comes from the things the hall allows and most exhibitors never use: height, light and a clear reason to step in off the aisle..
Yashobhoomi – India International Convention & Expo CentrePurpose-built exhibition or trade centreHall shows are walked at pace along long aisles, so the stand has to answer what you do from twenty metres and why it matters from two.
NSIC Exhibition Complex, OkhlaPurpose-built exhibition or trade centreIn a purpose-built hall you are one of many stands with identical freedoms, so differentiation comes from the things the hall allows and most exhibitors never use: height, light and a clear reason to step in off the aisle..
Talkatora Indoor StadiumIndoor stadium or arenaStadium shows move a lot of visitors across a wide floor in both directions, so plan flow rather than frontage.
Siri Fort AuditoriumAuditorium, hall or cultural centreMost of the real traffic at an auditorium venue is in the foyer and during the breaks, so put the stand where people queue and plan for everything to happen in twenty-minute bursts..
JLN Stadium ComplexIndoor stadium or arenaStadium shows move a lot of visitors across a wide floor in both directions, so plan flow rather than frontage.
Aerocity Hotel Convention HallsHotel ballroom or hotel convention hallIn a ballroom the room is already handsome, so a stand that competes with the chandeliers loses.
Dilli Haat INAOpen ground or maidanOpen-ground visitors arrive hot, dusty and already tired of walking.

A venue's name is a strong hint and not a specification. We confirm height, rigging, fixing, power and hours from the organiser's pack for your edition before design sign-off.

Build-up

Build-up, access and approvals in Delhi

Every Delhi venue issues its own build-up schedule, power allocation and list of what you may and may not fix to the structure. We read it before fabrication, because a panel that will not fit through the access door is an expensive thing to discover at the venue.

Design, fabrication, graphics, lighting, flooring, furniture, installation and dismantle can all sit on one quote, which is usually cheaper than sourcing them separately once you account for three margins and the coordination time.

What we handle for you

  • Organiser drawings, electrical load details and approvals in the format Delhi organisers ask for
  • Design checked against height, rigging, fixing and fire rules before sign-off
  • Pre-assembly and electrical testing in the workshop before dispatch
  • Transport, installation and an on-site crew inside the build-up window
  • Dismantle and clearing the stand inside the dismantle period

Taking the same stand to another city

Delhi is a single-city market on our list, so a programme here usually pairs Delhi with the nearest major exhibition cities — Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad among them. The structure travels and the graphics are reprinted per city, which is cheaper than commissioning a second stand.

A stand engineered for this venue is rarely a one-show asset. Frame-and-skin construction lets the structure be stored and re-skinned for the next city, which is why the second show in a programme costs materially less than the first.

Running several cities in a season works best with one structure and several graphic sets. The panels are numbered and stored between shows, each city gets its own print and its own organiser paperwork, and the same project manager carries the job from the first show to the last.

FAQ

Venue FAQ

Can you build at Mall Atriums, Delhi?+

Yes. We build at mall atriums throughout Delhi, covering design, fabrication, installation and dismantle inside the organiser's window.

What does a stall at Mall Atriums, Delhi cost?+

Custom stalls typically range from ₹9,000 to ₹18,000 per sq.m depending on size, finishes and AV; modular and octanorm builds cost less. Share your stand size and show dates for an itemised quote.

How early should I book for a show at Mall Atriums, Delhi?+

Four to six weeks ahead for a custom stall and eight or more for a double-decker or pavilion. Urgent builds in seven to ten days are possible with a simplified design.

What are the build-up timings at Mall Atriums, Delhi?+

Build-up windows are set by the organiser for each show rather than by the venue alone, so we confirm them in writing for your edition and plan the build — including night shifts if needed — around them.

Can you work to a shell scheme at Mall Atriums, Delhi?+

Yes. Where the organiser supplies shell scheme panels we upgrade them with printed fabric or vinyl, raised flooring, spotlights and a branded counter, which lifts the stand a long way at modest cost.

Do you handle approvals for Mall Atriums, Delhi?+

Yes. We prepare dimensioned drawings, electrical load details and structural documents to the organiser's format, and check the design against the venue's height, rigging and fire rules before fabrication.

Can a mall atrium stand be built during opening hours?+

Almost never. Mall management restricts build and strike to the hours when the centre is shut, which usually means an overnight build and a strike that finishes before the doors open. We pre-assemble and trial-fit in the workshop so that site work is bolting rather than building.

Does sunlight through the atrium roof affect the design?+

Yes, more than exhibitors expect. A glazed atrium puts direct sun on part of the space for part of the day, which washes out screens and fades print, so we orient screens away from it and specify graphic materials that hold colour.

Do you design differently for IT & electronics exhibitors here?+

Yes. Delhi's show calendar is driven by IT & electronics, automobile, pharma, handicrafts and education, and the sector decides the fundamentals — how much product has to be on open display, how private the meeting space needs to be, whether the floor has to carry load and whether water, drainage or three-phase power are required. We brief against the sector before the identity.

Can the same stand be used at a show in another city?+

Usually, if it is built for it. A frame-and-skin stand can be stored between shows, re-skinned with new graphics and rebuilt in another city, with print as the only significant per-city cost. It needs to be designed that way from the start rather than adapted later.

What is the biggest risk at mall atriums?+

Discovering a constraint after fabrication. A mall gives you one overnight window and no permission to cut on site, so anything that needs trimming cannot be trimmed. That is why we ask for the access route, the fixing rules, the power allocation and the build-up window in writing before anything is cut, rather than treating any of them as a site problem.
